The Montreal Canadiens have forward Guillaume Latendresse to the Minnesota Wild for forward Benoit Pouliot. Brochu's take: You could say this is a trade of disappointments. Pouliot has not played to his draft position, and Latendresse has never taken that next level. Maybe a change of scenery would help them both.

Niedermayer, Brunnstrom potential tradebait?

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, both Anaheim Ducks defenseman Scott Niedermayer and Dallas Stars forward Fabian Brunnstrom are available. Niedermayer doesn't have a no-trade-clause, but would like to stay with Anaheim. Brochu's take: I don't think there's much interest in Brunnstrom, considering his terrible production this season. If the Ducks are out of playoff contention, look for the offers to pour in for Niedermayer around the trade deadline. Source
